January 12, 2024 - Immediately after opening this wine, it showed beautiful fragrances of blackberries, violets, and Asian spices. With aeration more ripe fruit aromas were dominant including plums and prunes. It was nicely balanced despite the high alcohol content (15.5%). This is lovely at this point in its evolution but it also has the structure and fruit to last for another decade or more.
December 30, 2023 - Ripe jammy fruit but still balanced
September 5, 2023 - This wine has the ‘X’ factor that I seek in a wine. Dark fruit, sandal wood with a touch of crushed rock. This wine has evolved nicely over the years. Great depth and texture. The nose was explosive with wonderful berry notes. This is one off the beaten path that is worth seeking out.
July 26, 2023 - Simply a great wine off the beaten path. There is so much going on in the glass. Dark fruit, iodine, vanilla bean and crushed mountain rock deliver the ‘X’ factor I look for in a wine. Great juice.
June 23, 2023 - Dark fruit, underbrush, graphite and Mediterranean spice notes create a wine that has the “X” factor I seek. No hard edges. This wine is layered and full of excitement. It is in a perfect drinking window. Great juice.
April 7, 2023 - Still a big wine with lots of black fruit, easily could be mistaken as a Cali Cab. Well made and drinking nicely but very modern is style, alcohol is noticeable.
February 7, 2023 - It was 2010 not a 2008
February 7, 2022 - Big wine, dark fruits, blackberry, currants, toasty oak, tobacco, well integrated tannins, long finish
December 28, 2021 - Dark blueberry compote, some dried fruit, prune fig etc. Well integrated, low tannins. Has aged well. Enjoyable. Drink up
November 14, 2021 - Dense and viscous with complex, slightly ripe blackberry, cherry and blueberry flavors, a hint of black pepper, vanilla and sweet oak. Hint of anise. long in the finish. I would give it a higher score but it's a tad too jammy for me.
