November 25, 2023 - Probably past its prime by 3-5 years, but still enjoyable. The two overwhelming tastes now are fresh-made, orchard apple juice (with no sweetener) and butterscotch (again, no sweetener). I'd rate it 88 today. It was surely better some years ago.

March 28, 2023 - A bit past the maturity window, so this needs to be drunk up. Quince, cold apple pie, a hint of residual sugar.

August 18, 2018 - Stylized as usual, unlike any other Riesling. Most at the table felt it smelled and tasted sweet. I have always thought this was totally dry, “Indice 1” before that system was invented, but I could see their point. I like it but it’s not something I could drink all night.

April 13, 2018 - A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Mostly Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Much lighter color than the 00 and the expression reflects it. Decadent yet energetic nots displaying lemon curd, passion fruit, orange, anise, coriander seed and crème brulee. Excellent concentration, packed tropical fruit, dense, bright acidity, medium mineral and a long passion fruit and coriander seed driven finish. Nice showing.

March 18, 2018 - Vibrant copper/orange color. Genuine aromas of orange peel and other bitter citrus. Soft aromas of dried flowers and baked stone fruit. This is soft...a little too soft. While the flavors are lovely you want more of a pulse from the acidity. Still there's yellow plums, tangerines, donut peaches, and a touch of unsweetened cream. This is a little tired but it's developed nicely while retaining fruit.

February 14, 2018 - Stunning aromatics, rubber tinged riesling. Great balance, rich but not sweet, medium to long finish. Needs lobster or good shellfish with uncomplicated sauces so the wine will shine.
