December 31, 2020 - Light golden in color. Nose of caramel, honey, brioche, and a bit of lemon. Flavors of brioche and lemon. Lingering tartness.

January 1, 2020 - shared with pat at selkirk manor on new year's day to celebrate the beginning of the second decade of the twenty-first century. who would have that that we would have come this far? i have been working on clearing out the bins of dusties. despite encouragement from others to drink champagne whenever the mood strikes, i am still of the old school and reserve bubbles for special occasions. as a result, bottles such as this tend to languish in the cellar. this wine was highly rated upon release which prompted my purchasing several bottles. tasted previously in 2011 and 2017. quite pleasurable on both occasions. fortunately, this bottle has held up very well. paired with a variety of homemade canape incorporating cucumber, smoked oyster, caviar and shrimp mounted on pumpernickel mini bread. paired beautifully. still has vim and vigor. overall notes consistent with last tasting. pale straw color. persistent tiny bubbles. lots of the yeast and nutiness that i enjoy so much in a sparkler. the blend of pinot noir and chardonnay result in a wine that is graceful but with a firm backbone and strong presence. will look for this in more recent vintages. good value.

July 6, 2018 - Definitely not out of the drinking window. This one was GOOD. Popped by Dan towards the end of the night. Very good BDN. Nose of strawberry with almost more of a walnut. The entry of this shows small to medium bubbles, great strawberry, watermelon and passionfruit. Not as creamy as I thought it was going to be, but this one is definitely showing a hint of age. Was still quite enjoyable. This and a 2009 Dom Perignon were the sparklers on the table and really were both quite good.

February 27, 2017 - this was delicious- soft essence of strawberries and rose petals with a smooth brioche finish, still retaining a lovely balance and enduring finish...

January 1, 2017 - shared with pat, louis and ellen at selkirk manor. Giuliana smelled the aroma. celebrating new years eve at the stroke of midnight. way back in 2011, this was the best qpr for sparklers rated above 90 points on CT. was able to source a few bottles locally. enjoyed one that year and then engaged in benign neglect as other things grabbed my attention. it was now time to enjoy again so as not to risk finding the wine to be in decline. this bottle showed beautifully. pale straw color. persistent tiny bubbles. lots of the yeast and nutiness that i enjoy so much in a sparkler. the blend of pinot noir and chardonnay result in a wine that is graceful but with a firm backbone and strong presence. makes one feel optimistic that 2017 will be a year that offers many blessings.
