February 20, 2013 - - Brick color with medium forming legs and aromas of mint, blackberry and oak. It's balanced and has flavours of vanilla, cherry, raspberry and strawberry with a medium/full body. Round texture with a short finish.
September 22, 2012 - Best on the third day after opening--the 'vanilla oak' had receded by then. Very nice with pasta w tomato, mushrooms and sausage.
July 26, 2012 - My experience way different than others here. Rich, powerful, dark chocolate and espresso bean dominates but pretty blackberry/currant floates on top. Sometimes overcooked fruit came through probably due to the hot vintage. Acidity is very Italian. Agree with other taster comments that BBQ/Pizza is way to go. Way better than it should be at this price--a real surprise. Scoured the interwebs for 6 more bottles. Would love for this to replace all my bargain wines.
July 14, 2012 - Very strong vegetal / green pepper note on the nose. Not overly powerful fruit, just pleasant and easy drinking.
June 9, 2012 - Nose comes and goes with sweet berries. Some earthy character I couldn't nail down. Palate is one to two deminsional, forgettable at times and dry as the desert. Not bad, not great...right in the middle, a wine at the right price point for itself.
May 12, 2012 - has some nice "Italian" characteristics, but overall thin and underwhelming. fine with pizza or red sauce. give it a good 30 minutes to open a bit.
March 17, 2012 - Cherry and strawberry fruit on the nose; finish slow to develop but then pleasant. Simple nice table wine that paired well with pizza and eggplant parm sub. Was a bit flat the second day. Usually consistent; may have been a bad bottle (cork broke apart easily and some black residue on the cork).
