February 28, 2020 - Surprisingly quite good with nice Pinot character and cola notes. Secondary notes just barely starting. Nothing over the hill here.
January 24, 2016 - Still OK, but definitely past its prime
April 15, 2014 - Solid varietal character.
December 3, 2013 - Haven't had in a while. And it actually was even better. Lively balanced plum pinot. I would up our previous rating and make a double yum and a half
November 17, 2013 - Decanted for 2 hours. Cherry on the nose and stone fruits and minerals on the palate. Light mouthfeel and medium finish.
March 25, 2013 - Great value
February 28, 2013 - Very enjoyable. Was better day two.
January 13, 2013 - Great QPR. The Monterey has much more depth and earthiness to it compared to the Sonoma Pinot. Great with a Coc a Vin.
November 29, 2012 - Bad news: this vintage is probably not widely available. Good news is if you have some of it on hand, excellent Pinot for under $20. The nose was an in your face bowl of fruit-cherries and strawberries (nose was a 92). Appearance was not as thin as one expects for a Pinot. Taste was delicate, yet slightly assertive fruit, earthy/wood/minerality (taste was a 90). On the fence as to whether too young or not...initial thoughts are better in 2013 and 2014, as we decanted and it improved. Saving the other two bottles... Would highly recommend for a red sipping wine that will leave you wanting more, I didn't do so well on the food pairing (food too spicy), maybe lighter appetizers-non spicy! This winery is part of the Jess Jackson (Kendall-Jackson) Estate, but they are making great wines for the money.
November 24, 2012 - PnP. Clear, med red/purple. A better than average PN from LC. Drinking nicely, super value, nothing off. $16
