February 25, 2015 - Purple in color. Black fruit, grilled meat, and a hint of forest floor on the nose. Great length and depth of flavor. A very pleasant hint of funk mid palate. Ripe black cherry comes out at the finish. This did improve compared to my previous bottle, and did benefit from some air time as well.
October 16, 2013 - great wine, needs some air time, as it really opens up. Deep, dark, plum, spice, nice mouth, medium finish.
April 20, 2013 - Dark fruit, earthy meaty notes, and tar. Well balanced, easy to drink. After about 1 1/2 hours it begins to reveal chocolate and vanilla notes. Good now, but will likely drink well for a couple of more years.
April 8, 2013 - This is good, not great. Not big and overpowering. Fruit forward, well integrated, a little bit of funk the first night, not the second, soft for a Charles Smith/K Syrah, medium finish.
December 29, 2012 - PnP from 750ml. No lengthy note here - enjoyable, funky K - if a bit sweet. Improved on subsequent nights. No rush to open the next one
June 12, 2012 - Nose is full of Blueberry and Raspberry notes with a meaty tone. Palate is dense as the wine unwinds and adds layers. Need 40 mins in a decanter right now. Excellent pepper, smoke, tar, game and wildberry notes as well. Solid wine for 65 on a restaurant wine list.
