November 26, 2013 - Red purple in color. Has muddy earthy nose that caries through the palate. Nice blue fruit with some tobacco notes. Firm fusty tannins and most importantly, good acidity which freshens the earthiness. Hold up well to a red sauce.

January 17, 2013 - Deep ruby color. Spice and plummy notes. Fruit forward. A decent wine, it exceeded my expecatations.

April 16, 2011 - Once again Clos du Val comes through with a classic earthy primitivo. Popped and poured at our favorite pizza & pasta neighborhood restaurant and it paired splendidly with their spaghetti bolognese.
