    December 5, 2019 - Tasted over 2 hrs
    -nearly semi-translucent med red purple
-moderately expressive barrel spice red fruit wet stone animale
-med+ acidity, med/med- weight sappy vibrant red fruit and Gevrey/barrel spice, faintly creamy top note on the moderately long finish, med/med- tannins
-drinking well now early on a prime drinking plateau, this has the energy of the vintage, lighter touch of the producer, and some Gevrey-ness in the spice

    July 8, 2018 - -- popped and poured --
    -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours --

NOSE: sweet oak; hint of cider; cider note intensified with air; spicy

BODY: garnet color of medium-light to medium depth with slight bricking at the edges; clear; light to medium-light bodied.

TASTE: fine tannin; oak; medium-light flavor concentration; not spoiled; a bit moldy tasting; medium+ acidity; fairly light on the fruit; really, this wasn't as bad as it sounds. gut impression score: mid 80s.

    50, 5, 10, 13, 5 = 83

July 5, 2018 - Maison Ilan @ Medlar: Vibrant. Kirschy fruit. Densely silky. Plenty of life and interest. All the positive points of the corked bottle but with extra dimension, focus and vibrancy. Very good. ****

July 5, 2018 - Maison Ilan @ Medlar: Reasonably dense mid ruby. Quite rich and bacon fat savoury on the nose. Tighter and slightly denser, less generous palate. A little pinched. And then the corkiness comes through.

April 19, 2018 - Sweet seductive nose, red fruit. Taste also red fruit, very elegant, mature, only negative point is a bit short finish, a bit det in the end. Good to drink now, I do not expect further development.
