April 2, 2021 - Needed to stand for a while but after that it was very good. After another hour or so, a sweetness emerged that was pleasant but a bit odd. Think it peaked one to two years ago.
October 6, 2017 - donker, rond, vol. Toch ook wat kruidig. Rijpe krieken op jenever, braam, zoethout. Kan nog wel enkele jaartjes mee.
March 12, 2017 - Nice Bordeaux, fruity, tannins and a bit bold. I will improve even more in the coming years.
February 6, 2017 - I have to say that I like this quite full bodied and richly fruited wine, if I think of it as right-bank Bordeaux with good acidity and backbone rather than Madiran. My previous TN gives more explanation. Very good in its way.
November 30, 2016 - Doft: Lakrits, björnbär, ek, körsbär.
Smak: Ännu mer körsbär, kraft, peppar, ganska mycket tanniner.
Helt ok vin.
October 26, 2016 - Le fin affiche une robe très foncé sans aucune évolution. Au nez, on décèle une légère réduction à l'ouverture, ensuite s'entremêle des notes animales, de fruits noirs et de cuir sur un fond légèrement boisé. La bouche est merveilleusement assouplie, de corps moyen(+), elle s'avère être parfaitement équilibré, avec une belle fraicheur et les fruits noirs qui tapissent le palais. Le vin est parfaitement à point à ce stade, le meilleur Bouscassé bu à date!
May 18, 2016 - Bouscassé has changed a lot since the late 80s and 90s, from which I owned bottles of VV from several vintages and a whole case of the basic '97. Compared with '97, two changes are visible before tasting, namely Tannat content down to 50% from 65% and alcohol up from 13% to 14%. The changes are also apparent on the nose and palate. Both vintages were medium/full bodied and full of lively acidity but there is more ample fresh primary red and dark fruit on the '08 and less minerality, tar and leather notes and tannic backbone. The '08 in its 8th year is undoubtedly more open and easier drinking than was the '97, a forward year for its decade, but I like my Madiran to be somewhat severe and challenging and in need of age. This is undoubtedly a clean and technically well made wine and good+ of its kind but I can't help feeling that there has been some dumbing down and loss of Madiran typicity in order to render the wine accessible sooner with possibly a sacrifice of ultimate potential.
July 24, 2015 - Ren doft, fortfarande under utveckling, medel till låg intensitet. Relativt svalfruktig doft med struktur björnbär, plommon, blåbär och en lätt bläckig ton,
Smaken är torr med hög syra, många men finslipade tanniner, fyllig kropp och en alkohol som ligger något högt. Smaken är även den mörkfruktig. Ett medellångt och tyvärr lite anonymt avslut.
Ett korrekt vin som kan lagras ytterligare dock utan särskild förbättring. Matvänligt, och mycket prisvärt (119 kronor vid inköp). Behöver luft/ tid i glaset för att hitta rätt.
April 18, 2015 - Nez qui s'est dévoilé après 45 min. d'aération. Notes de fruits noirs, c'est bien mûre, un peu de cèdre, crème fraiche, note de violette. Les tanins sont assouplis à ce niveau, la bouche est arrondie. S'est avéré un bon vin même si légèrement anonyme.
