  • Tony Molester Does not like this wine:

    January 22, 2016 - Stelvin.

High acidity nose, oak, faint orchard fruit.
Palate follows through, with lots of oak and acidity, making the flavours seem unbalanced and lacking fruit.
Grenache blanc and roussanne dominated blend.
    Mediocre.
    14.5% abv.

July 4, 2014 - Powerful nose of honeydew melon, candle wax, and alcohol. Promising, but it's fading, with a little heat, a touch of tangerine and not much else on the palate. Bet it was drinking well a couple years ago, but it's pretty empty now.

July 3, 2013 - Quite intense and complex nose, with tropical fruit, spice, some oily and iodine tones. Full, very mineral, the acidity is rather low, but nonetheless the wine feels surprisingly well balanced, solid and structured. Very long. Very fruity finish, complex, citrus, mineral, tropical. This seemed to me more like a white Rhone rather than a New World, perhaps that's why I actually rather liked it.

March 7, 2013 - Last bottle from the case...on the nose it is waxy and creamy with lees notes and touches of pear and slight stone fruit. On the palate it is all about texture rather than flavour; slight honeyed notes, touches of stone fruit and a hint of minerality are delivered in a rich mouth filling sup with a touch of bitterness and herbs on the end of the warm medium plus length finish. Lovely.

January 25, 2013 - Please see earlier notes. This is not becoming more interesting. It is still intact but I suggest drink up.

October 6, 2012 - Mild nutty and honey aroma. A full, oily wine; in fact I found it a bit flabby, lacking acidity. Reasonably complex and decent length. Savoury palate with restrained pear/light peach flavours. an interesting wine which was quite balanced.

September 18, 2011 - I really enjoyed this. A weighty, oily wine, with extract and a ringer for a CNDP. I recently said faiwell to the 2004 and this is a better wine. Somehow it just didn't quite evolve as much I'd expected, so didn't gain a higher score.
