February 9, 2019 - 2/9/19: Coravin 1/3 bottle. Decanted for 1 hour. This needs air. Decanting for several hours would have been okay. Light nose of red/black fruits and spice. Flavors of red fruits, black fruits, spice, with decent acidity, fine tannins, maybe a touch of alcohol, and a moderate finish. Seems like this will go several years more, maybe with a bit of upside.
5/2/19: Same bottle. Removed cork. Nose and flavors of raisins; completely shot due to Coravin effect.

January 1, 2016 - Bk to deep purple edge. 2 Hour decant. Dk. Blk fruit on the nose, somewhat subdued. Plum and blk fruit with good structure and tannin. Lingering finish. I see why they blend this with Zin. Drink or hold.

November 25, 2011 - Decanted almost 2 hrs. ahead (recommended). Deep garnet color. Nice nose of blackberries, cassis, yeast, earth and spice notes. Soft on the palate with good acidity and appealing fruit flavors above some richness and a bit of syrup. Quick finish with very light tannins and a bit of heat. The best things about this wine are its spicy character and friendly approach. But this wine has higher aspirations, and shows them in the earthy nose and rounder palate notes. This is an absolutely credible wine. It's worth drinking and could even stand some bottle age. Totally good QPR at $15.

November 9, 2011 - Very nice Petite Syrah. Full of fruit, but not to the point of being a fruit bomb, nice spice and some tobacco. Good tannins. Would buy again, but would like to find it around the $15-17 mark, rather than the $20 I paid first go round.

November 6, 2011 - Nice nose but then very thin, little fruit. I couldn't get a real idea of what this wine was about. Boring, would not buy again.
