December 5, 2010 - Dark cherry tastes with anise, vanilla and spice. Tannins were well integrated. Let breathe for 30 minutes prior to drinking.
May 26, 2009 - Let breathe for 30 minutes in bottle. Gorgeous deep ruby red color. Opaque in the glass.
The nose shows creamy, lush and extremely ripe dark fruit aromas. Dark cherries with gobs of mocha, leather and damp slate.
Palate is super fruit forward showing more dark berries. Blackberries, cherries, purple flowers and oak flavors lead to a medium complex finish. Moderate high acidity, tannins and alcohol show an overall well balanced Cab Franc from Napa.
Every bottling of Pritchard Hill wine, whether it be Cab Sauv or Cab Franc, is outstanding. Bravo to Chappellet Pritchard Hill.
