  July 28, 2014 - Hazy and deep ruby to garnet in appearance. Mild bit of bret on the nose with pronounced aromas of meat spices, charred oak and black fruit. On the palate - full-bodied and dry with medium acid and tannin with flavors of leather, tobacco, farmyard, black pepper, espresso and blackberry jam. Long finish. I purchased this wine in 2011 and cellared it properly so I was pleased with the development. Fab rustic wine that I paired with grilled bacon and provolone cheese burgers. Satisfying merger of rich and richer.

  April 15, 2014 - A little viognier co-fermented here, this is really nicely fresh, supple, and silky. Fresh, yes, but the profile is dark and peppery, and very structured, but there's a great cote-rotie-style meaty-ness in the mid-palate if you work it hard enough. For aging.

  June 20, 2013 - This was one of the better syrahs I can remember. Dense, earthy, very dark fruit, with a touch of oak. Nice complexity and finish.
