June 5, 2014 - One of my favorite Pinots. Well rounded, great body, not overly fruity. Stellar.

July 18, 2013 - Textbook RRV pinot nose - rich, ripe strawberry and cherry with cola and spice. I was looking forward to what I expected to be a ripe, rich wine on the palate, but surprisingly and unfortunately, it tasted underripe, green and sour. Not sure what happened to all the fruit that I sensed in the aroma, but it was not present in the flavors. Smooth, velvety, medium-bodied texture. Improved with airtime, but the underripe flavors overshadowed all the other positives. Don't think it is over-the-hill so much as it simply never got up the hill. I have enjoyed J pinots in other vintages, so this was unexpected.

July 5, 2013 - Definitely past prime even in the magnum we had. Acid falling off. Still with good fruit and the broad California pinot style but lacking other specific character. If you have this wine, drink up!

October 9, 2012 - Much better than the last bottle I opened (must have been a bad bottle). Nice fruit, integrated, subtle oak, easy drinking Pinot. Not much of a value at this price ($20), but a decent every day Pinot.

October 8, 2012 - Very disappointed with this bottle. Overly sweet, cloying. Oaky, but almost artificial in taste. Did not finish the bottle - half went down the drain. Hoping if was just a bad bottle. Not nice at any price.
