May 14, 2019 - My first f four drank with a grilled tenderloin. WOW! what a delicious wine. Loads of dark fruits, licorice, chocolate, tar and secondaries. Beautiful balance. Concentrated. Long finish. Exceeded my expectations. Happy to have more of this beauty. Drink or hold.

January 26, 2019 - Black fruits and spices on the nose. Primary fruit has faded a bit but still present, combined with graphite and earth notes finishing with dry tannins. Enjoyable and tasty, but faded quickly on the palate leaving me wanting more...waited a bit too long apparently, glad it's the last bottle. Drink up if you have any left.

December 7, 2018 - Decanted for over an hour and this wine just exploded on the palate with a ripe, red cherry fruit. It just sat there on my tongue releasing flavor with very little tannin. Long, long finish.

August 1, 2018 - Woodward remains one of my all-time favorite wineries. Not just "from Washington" but from anywhere. I'd put this particular bottle in a blind taste with any big hitter Bordeaux or Napa red. Just extremely well made, and I say perfect at this age (9 years). The nose kept me busy for the first little while, just losing myself in the plums, and other red fruits which were equal to the great amounts of graphite and earth. Then the first amazing sips. All that time in barrel and then bottle has softened this wine to where the texture is perfect. It's really sort of a perfect balance of a "big and muscular" feeling crossed with a "softened aged wine" - the best of both sensations. After the first hour the cocoa and coffee notes came calling, but still, again, graphite. Oh, so good. If you have this, drink now. Pair it with a Filet (I don't usually order that cut, but this was the steak on the menu at the restaurant where I enjoyed this wine, and it was superb). Oh, and find more.

November 12, 2017 - Oak nd a little funk at opening, nose of wet leaves, plum, graphite and a hint of orange zest. Mid to front palate finish.

(Woodward Canyon Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon Washington State) An aromatic wine with high toned herbal notes, abundant vanilla notes, dark fruit, and spice. The palate is loaded with dark fruit flavors and grainy tannins with abundant oak accents leading to a vanilla and spice filled finish. The oak is heavy here but the wine largely has the fruit intensity to match. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Champoux, Woodward Canyon Estate, Sagemoor, Spring Creek, Charbonneau, DuBrul, and Weinbau vineyards. 15.8% alcohol. 2,421 cases produced.
