November 7, 2020 - Saturday lunch gathering (Bethesda, Maryland): Expressive nose displaying opulent red and black fruit, blackberry pie, stewed tomato, a hint of stem, Vosne spice, caramel, black truffle, sap, espresso, cedar, iron, sweet spices and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of ripe black fruit, rich and opulent yet also showing nice balance and harmony, medium acidity, earthy mineral, a hint of tannins and a long generous sweet black fruit driven finish with stewed tomato and soy at the end. It displays the strong producer style. This is drinking beautifully but there is no way to justify the current price.
