September 26, 2020 - In large Zalto red burg glass.

Extraordinary burst of freshness. Berrytastic. Soft, silky, integrated. Still youthful ebullience. I had already adumbrated a chance that this would be a quisled example.

But no! Twenty years on and has got further to go. Definitely no hurry here. Would love to find some more senior examples from Dominique Laurent of the same vintage.

Candyfloss, raspberry tea, and a mint and rich sloe coulis. An easy 94. Expect big brothers are at 97.

September 5, 2010 - Spicy red fruit nose, a lot of oak and game. The palate shows sweet red fruit, almost jammy (not quite) but with some good acidity and some elegance. Medium finish is more spicy, turning earthy.

August 9, 2009 - faulty cork, the corkscrew pushed it through into the bottle! I tried the wine anyway and it appeared to be prematurely aged. Sweet oak, cola and cherry on the nose. The palate shows mature barnyard flavours. Nice balance and acidity.

November 19, 2006 - Medium blood red – a touch of orange. Big and astringent mouth entry. Mid palate has full fruit, but too much oak. A shame, as there is nice earthy minerality – but again too much oak on the finish. Not for me, and not quite ready either. 4-

July 17, 2006 - Medium blood colour, slight purplish tinge, no browning and hardly any paler rim. Attractive nose, somewhat dominated by spicy oak, nice cherry fruit and earth beneath. Firm and full flavoured, good minerality, red fruit and oak, with nice fresh acidity. Good length and a nice spicy-sweet redcurrant finish. Good wine, but a little overoaked to my taste - give it another few years and see.
