  February 11, 2015 - Wow, seems like a totally different wine than last time. A pretty nose of red fruit and tobacco. Good acidity, some tannins, and a vegetal and woody/stemmy palate. The mouth feel is rustic but cleaned up. Better than an '07 Raffaulf a few nights ago.

  February 22, 2013 - Clear and bright ruby colored. Sour cherries and red plums on the nose, dried rose petals and the smell of two slate rock being smashed together. On the palate, this cab franc is smooth and soft, with fine-grain tannins and tangy acid, all very well-integrated. On the fruit side, this wine shows wild raspberry and dried cherry, but there's this great herbal component, like dried oregano and bay leaf. Great underlying sense of minerality throughout. If you've ever tasted mineral water straight out of a rock, you get a sense of what I'm talking about. Medium-length finish with notes of black tea. The fruit is quite restrained, and the other aspects are more pronounced, but if that's what you're looking for, this hits the spot. I love Baumard's whites and dessert wines, and I'm interested in trying other vintages of this Anjou rouge.

  December 31, 2012 - Nose of red fruit, spice, greens. Palate a little bit lean and thin. The 2004 was a better bottle for me than this.
