March 3, 2019 - APPEARANCE: Medium garnet colour.
NOSE: Initially quite earthy. Then autumn forest notes, dark plum, leather, old strawberry jam, black pepper, empty cigar box and cigar ashes. (88p)
TASTE: Mature and quite rustic. The arrival is very earthy. On the mid palate soft tannins, dark bitter chocolate, some fruit and a fruity acidity. The exit and aftertaste is again rustic and slightly tannic.
With prolonged airing (I left it overnight in the fridge) the taste becomes rounder, fruitier and sweeter, moving my taste score from 84 to 86 points.
    Total score 87 points.
