January 30, 2019 - Might be at the crest of the hill and I don’t see more upside. Sure was good while it lasted.

November 9, 2018 - Was quite fruity when first opened. We let sit in the frig (vinovac) for a few days and became quite enjoyable. This has been our consistent experience with this vintage, it needs to be opened than sit for a couple few days.

November 2, 2018 - A solid 90, maybe 91 pointer and this wine is now at it's peak - I doubt it will improve further with additional cellaring and time to put the other 4 bottles into the drinking rotation. A very good QPR wine at our original CT price and another great effort by wine maker Smig. With proper cellaring this has at least another 2-3 good years left. Dark purple to black with a hint of bricking in the periphery. Now very smooth, well integrated, balanced and remaining tannins very soft. Nose is soft and complex with a hint of smoke, underlying oak and notes of red currant and blueberry and with palate of underlying oak, blueberry and cassis with an increasingly earthy finish - on this bottle I did not get the spice notes that previous reviewers had referenced. Aftertaste very pleasant and medium length.

June 2, 2018 - Smokey nose, a little alcohol coming through but this doesn’t get anymore prominent on the palate. More wood on the plate and some dried fruit. Long finish, little heavy but overall showing nice mellow notes as it ages
