July 8, 2023 - You really taste the cherry - very enjoyable. Cherry on the nose is extraordinary. Sweet. Ate with a chocolate apricot tart

June 18, 2023 - Very enjoyable wine. Per Maurizio (Distributer), the grape wine is fermented, then sour cherry juice is added, and then it is refermented, and this fermentation is stopped by chilling it. Very smooth, with some tannin, residual sugar, and a definite flavor of cherry. We will be buying more! 14.5% alcohol.

April 22, 2023 - This stuff is dope. Cheery and cherry, but contemplative. Even the most jaded wine drinkers around the table were charmed. I went right out and bought a case of 6, some of which will be presents.

April 25, 2020 - We love this dessert wine. Though made with cherries the wine is not as sweet as one might expect. It is one of the ultimate pairings with any chocolate dessert — especially semi sweet or dark chocolate cake. Inky and red in the glass and a little sticky on the palette this wine is loaded with surprises.

February 9, 2019 - Latour Restaurant @ Crystal Springs Resort with CBCC wine group.

Forth wine of the night. Big viscous and light cherry liquor. Mostly an after dinner drink with a light alcohol essence to it. Resembles a sweet port except made with cherries.

August 18, 2018 - Ordered on a lark at a restaurant because I'd never heard of it. It was listed as vernaccia de serrapetrona secco, but that appears to be a different wine. In any case, I'm glad I was served this, because it is an absolute revelation. Deep purple color, cherry, raspberry, rosemary, sage on the nose. The herbal bouquet was captivating and in balance. Full bodied and dense. Tastes like a passito, but with none of the rough edges that are customary.

This wine is a reminder that around every corner in Italy, a remarkable surprise awaits.

I cannot rate this because...it was so out of the blue! boysenberry spoon fruit. sweet ripe though not totally cloying. the table came up with "Dannon Yogurt fruit on the bottom" and "Chinese five spice". the finish had a savory/sweet note. Interesting. may be fun to try with chocolate.
