March 3, 2024 - Tasted after 1 hour of air. Dark garnet color with some browning at the edge. Nice floral on the nose. Dark plums and cherries. Remarkably fresh for a 27 year old wine. Picked up on WineBid. Must have had great storage over the years. Tannins have melted away but still good acidity to provide balance. A bit of heat on the finish. Nice long finish. Excellent.

February 1, 2024 - Tasted after 90 minutes of air. Dark garnet color. Some black cherry fruit. Cocoa notes. Drying mellow tannins. Perfect balance. Nice florals on the mid palate. Tasted this blind against 3 other Washington wines. Never would have guessed this was 27 years old. Still drinking great. Nice long finish.

January 16, 2021 - Toward the end of its life, but still has legs and is a wonderful glass of wine.

November 20, 2019 - Drinking well (from a 375ml)... But clearly past prime

August 23, 2017 - [Note that this is from a 375] Shows how this winery has nailed it with Bdx style blends. The cork was very soft, which made me worried at first. I got out the Durand, but the cork came out easily and with no visible issues. The wine is dark and dense in the glass. Very perfumed and slightly dusty nose of tobacco leaves, with subdued whiffs of red cherries, sous bois, and violets. Blind I would guess Europe and not new world. Palate hints at sweet cherry, surrounded by herbs, violets, capsicum, and tar. A slightly bitter finish mars what is otherwise a pretty pleasant wine. With some time in the glass the bitterness recedes, revealing some subtle mint and sweet cherry notes. The mint begins to take over the flavors – this is developing quite nicely in the glass!
