June 25, 2020 - Consistent with my previous note of 8/19. Still holding up beautifully. My last bottle. :(
April 18, 2020 - Very nice, easy drinking, $7.99 bottle of wine with ribs tonight.
August 3, 2019 - This wine has aged incredibly well, especially given its modest original price. Clear garnet to the edges in the glass. Soft flowers and red fruits on the nose and palate, with a hint of stone and old leather. Old tannins still provide structure but are wrapped in velvet now. Beautiful by itself but even better as a companion to charcoal grilled lamb chops.
July 4, 2019 - Loosing it of course, fruit has flattened out, colour is loosing vibrance. Still good drinking.
June 8, 2016 - Deep ruby colour; looks like a well aged wine. Lovely big fruit but light on the finish. Stood up better for 16 years than I would have thought for such modest price originally.
Would pair well with mushroom risotto.
August 10, 2013 - This was a good wine to accompany the BBQ pulled pork for dinner. Well blended; fully mature. Better than the 2003 Rosemont we also had last night.
October 24, 2012 - - Brick color.
October 11, 2011 - This may have been the buy of the last decade. How many $6.99 wines still have fruit and elegant finesse after 11 years?
February 27, 2011 - Lots of great fruit still going on here, with a pretty strong anise note barreling on through. This one still providing a lot of bang for the buck. I'd say it has another 18 to 24 good months lying ahead of it. Yum!
July 18, 2010 - nasty. missed the window on this one
