December 6, 2015 - Like "FUNWINESPORTS" wrote this wine is completely un-oaked.. So if you think it's oaky.. you should probably learn what oak tastes like before giving a review.. #justsayin

July 7, 2015 - Sorry to say, but the fruit is completely hidden behind a velvety veil of oak. Did I write o-a-k? I quite do not get when producers try to disguise their wines in this type oak chips treatment. There are almost oak tannins in the wine too. Maybe this was an off bottle? I am not sure, but I cannot believe the producer would like the wine to behave like this bottle did. No official CT score tonight, but I would say this particular bottle was around 85-86.

November 15, 2012 - For everyone who has rated this wine poorly for over-use of oak or excessive spicy oak, here's the news - there is NO OAK on this wine! Special Burgundian yeasts were used and the wine was blended with a little Marsanne, Roussanne, and Vermintino. Extended lees aging gives this wine an amazing mouthfeel - rich, yet with tons of juicy acidity. Bravo!

October 19, 2012 - I am really liking oaky Chards these days, but this wine is a mess. The oak isn't buttery for me; it's perfumey and woody. All front-loaded. No mid-palate or finish. Terrible QPR. An absolute pass for me. N.B.: this is the second wine I've had from this winemaker (2008 Saxon Brown Zin) that I have really disliked.

May 31, 2012 - Did not like at all, thick and oaky...not my style at all. Down the drain with my last one.
