May 10, 2020 - A lighter colour than previous bottles, but scarcely any more maturity evident. Looking through the core of the wine in the glass, it's still a dark plum colour, but there are some very obvious cherry red flashes, particularly as the glass is tilted or swirled.
Glorious nose: dark berry fruit, fresh leather, tar, a hint of fresh tobacco, some dusty dark, bitter cocoa notes.
Every so silky on the attack. Quickly fills with lots of black fruit and some red fruit. Quite leathery feeling on the tongue. Still quite a firm structure to this. Finishing with more pruney fruit, and enormous length after.
There's something rather satisfying and comfortable about this wine.

    October 2, 2018 - Heavy sediment. Really doesn't look 19 years old!
Very deep, dark, black plum colour.
Deep, dark black fruit on the nose: blackberries, blood, leather, with a bit of raspberry freshness providing a lift at the end.
Very full attack. Rich, enveloping, mouth coating silky black fruit, with something a bit fresher and more red fruit coming along, balanced by a bitter chocolate and pruney richness. This bottle is in a very nice place. Excellent length. Nicely integrated tannins still providing a bit of structural support.

July 3, 2018 - Still pleasant although fading. Nice color, good nose. Drink up.

June 26, 2017 - Needs to breathe for 20-30 minutes, but delicious. Heavy on the sediment.
