January 13, 2020 - un superbe vin ou rien n'acroche.
    Tanins soyeux, aromes equilibres.
Cerise, anis, the vert, pomme grenade.
Vraiment, toute la beaute de ce vin est dans l'equilibre et l'harmonie delicat des aromes.

August 30, 2019 - Confrerie lunch. Leroy signature visible on this wine. Very barnyardy, a bit too much, but good complexity with red cherry, dried meat. Tart on the finish.

October 12, 2018 - Tasted after a 2005 Les Petits Monts 1e (Vosne, above Richebourg) from Potel which was good. The Beaune is much darker, deeper in colour and the wine more powerful and, I suspect, very Leroy in style - lots of soft ripe fruit, almost a crunchy, chewy texture, touch of coffee and very creamy. Lovely acidity and balance and will easily age another 5 years. Well into grand cru class (but sadly so is the price, plus some). A remarkable 1e from Beaune, ageing effortlessly

December 30, 2015 - The wine was very slow to open, took about 2 hours in a decanter. Light on the palate, typical Beaune flavors, while intense, complex, and long. A Leroy true to form.

Outperformed two excellent 1999 b'dy grand crus in a blind tasting.

October 5, 2015 - Lovely complexity. This wine is showing good tertiary components of sous bois complimenting the warm red fruits and spice. Lovely

January 2, 2014 - Opened very slowly and thought it was dead... but, we drank something else for an hour or so and by end of dinner this was fabulous. Still, time to drink up the last one.

November 21, 2012 - Time to drink up... was fantastic just out of the bottle about 20 minutes, but faded shortly thereafter. No doubt a great wine and I know how to drink the last two I have.

October 18, 2012 - This is great juice, showing some pretty good youth for a '99 Beaune. Transparent dark red in color, no bricking, no murk, lovely iridescence. Aromas of spicy red fruit, great perfume here. There's a touch of this burnt rubber essence (or is it reduction?) on the midpalate that's rich with ripe but linear red cherries and tart red plum, but this does not detract, rather it adds to the individuality of this wine. The wood is fully integrated. This is surprisingly concentrated and sappy, and I'd think this could still go for another 3-5 years without losing a beat. Impressive.

April 5, 2009 - "Farewell" Party for Sasi (Lam Soon): An extremely sharp punchy nose of a mix of melted pungent cheeses like gorgonzola, mature cheddar and blue dotted by red raspberries. There is also a simultaneous display of chickadees / chicken-flavoured twisties and hot tin roof. I would say it also reminds me of half dried sweat stained gym tops. However, the palate was contrastingly delicately cherry fruit-dominated. Good purity of fruit, delicious and sexy with great texture and nice mouthfeel backed by lifted blue flowers and nice acid backbone. A contradictory wine with a yin-yang contrast of nose and palate. To me, this is an interesting wine to have.
