Community Tasting Notes 20

February 23, 2019 - Musty to start, but this nicely freshened up within 10 minutes. Ripe apple, baked apple and papaya. Good+ weight, good length with a bright middle and sweet spice on finish. Better / fresher vs last time tried 6 years ago!

November 9, 2014 - Very well balanced with lovely acidity and great pineapple and lemon oil notes and nice texture. There is still a touch of oak still in there that gives a touch of vanilla and cake spice. Drink up now or over the next 3-5 years

August 21, 2013 - Tried the 05 at a tasting at the winery in August 2013 and was blown away at how well this Chardonnay had aged. We purchased this 04 as well as the 05 we tasted. The 04 had many similar notes that we tasted in the 05: ripe apple, as well as a deep butterscotch that came out as the wine opened up. Not quite as layered, but still a beautiful showing for a 9-year-old Chardonnay!

April 27, 2013 - Ripe apple and pear with some background spice aromas. Similar flavor profile. Aromas at the appropriate maturity level I would expect for a 2004, with flavors slightly more advanced, particularly on the finish.

October 16, 2009 - 15.2% alcohol. Rich yellow color. Initially some dusty oak on the nose, which blew off with a little air to reveal a lovely bouquet of apple, fig, pear, honey, and a touch of minerals. In the mouth, oily in texture, with a candied lemon zest note underscoring the apple, pear, and fig fruit. Good minerality and acidity. Long finish that was quite compelling. A-
