  September 17, 2021 - Aroma: green apples, tropical fruits, rose petals, honeysuckle, stone fruits, mint and minerals.
  Palate: vanilla, lemons, mandarin oranges, key lime pie, saline, creamy, smooth, silky, well-balanced, elegant with a long finish.
  The color of this wine looks like apple juice but it’s expected as this is a 17-year old wine. Was lucky this wine wasn’t premox given its age as it didn’t taste like sherry or plum wine, which was my experience with premox wines. Paired with roasted Cornish hen and carrots/potatoes. While it was a nice pairing it didn’t elevate the wine nor did it develop in the course of 4 hours while drinking it. A solid aperitif/food pairing wine but don’t expect too much from it. 91

  November 27, 2020 - Retail $100 (?): It was the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend when the main theme is leftovers, right? Well, we had been tasting and drinking the leftovers from my Third Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir and we were a bit Pinot-ed out. We were also watching the last episode of the Queen's Gambit. What does any of that have to do with Corton-Charlemagne? Absolutely nothing (other than the tidbit that it was Charlemagne's wife, according to legend that caused the King to plant Chardonnay in Corton). Oh, the wine? Holy Goodness. While a golden-amber in the glass and a bit closed on the nose, this is all fantasmigorical on the palate: bright, tart, candied, and even sherried on the palate. I have a limited number of white Burgs left (and doubt I will be acquiring more--certainly not of this caliber) and there is little doubt that none will surpass the elegance and beauty of this one. thedrunkencyclist.com

  April 24, 2019 - A good friend was stranded at the Houston airport and i told him he should grab an Uber into town and help me drink some wine. I pulled this. The last bottle of this I tried was stellar, but this was, well, not so much. Dark golden color in the glass with oxidation setting in, for sure. Honeyed tree fruit (pear and peach) with a bit of glycerin. The palate is tart and inviting--the good side of a white Burg on the downward slope. Not what it should be, but I have had far worse (and better). thedrunkencyclist.com

  March 27, 2019 - This bottle is still vibrant and the oak is now complementary and not overpowering. I don’t know that this will improve but nor is it fading. What a value this was.

  December 22, 2018 - From 3L. Very young and fresh. Full nose has orchard fruit, some nuts, mineral and citrus zest. Good concentration and a round mouth feel. Super fresh acids. Quite young in this format.
