June 19, 2021 - Party for AF defense. This was a very solid bottle of Bordeaux. Nothing flashy, but well proportioned and all in balance. Very nice for the $17 I paid.
March 14, 2021 - The wine is finally starting to come into its own. Solid Bordeaux from a great vintage.
October 19, 2020 - Haven't had this since 2015, good time to check in on it. Paired with braised sausages in lentils on a blustery night...
From prior notes:"Garnet/purple color. Nose was earthy/barnyard at the open. Fruit came through as the wine opened. Dark fruits, currants, herbs. Medium to light mouthfeel, tannins resolved. Medium finish, elegant...."
This bottle was smooth and nicely aged, classic Bdx profile. Enjoyable, would call it good not great. I think I paid $29 10 years ago...so not a bad QPR
March 24, 2019 - Nice aged claret that on this night seemed a bit okay.
December 16, 2018 - From a Magnum. Very tight at first but after an hour decant it opened up nicely, old wood, plum, earth and black cherry. Delicious plum and mushroom flavours with a bit of wood softness and a soft resolved finish with just enough acid to clean things up.
December 2, 2018 - Soft and a bit faded on palate. Gentle red fruit with little structure. Disappointing considering vintage and price

May 7, 2017 - This wine has been improving and should be really good in a few more years.
June 25, 2016 - Immediately appealing, nice forward earthy nose with sweet berry and cherry. Medium bodied on the palate, slightly sour, with that nice earthy note shining through as well. Pretty tasty, with enough acidity to cut through a grilled steak. Tannins are pretty mellowed out, but everything seems to be in a nice place. At the end of drinking window (at least for this bottle), but tasty enough.
