  This inaugural vintage of The Mad Hatter had something of a child star aspect to it, when the Wine Spectator included it the Recommended Wines section and the IWC gave it a nod. Decanted for one hour. Still has excellent color and a firm body, but aromas and flavors of over ripe and cooked fruit dominate – which is also a pretty good description of the current state of Lindsay Lohan.

  November 5, 2008 - Some of the fruit has dropped out and given how lush this wine was the last time that I tasted it, that is a good thing. More balance between the fruit, acid, and tannin. Plum is the dominant taste. Other reviews note a range of flavors which once again I did not taste. Still very purple in color and I did not sense that the wine was showing age poorly.

  April 13, 2008 - A lot of smoke, licorice and vanilla surrounding a core of very intense, ripe black fruit. Full-throttle on opening, but after a couple of days, this had toned down and integrated quite a bit, so I will not be in any hurry to drink my other bottle.
