April 26, 2015 - This bottle is fading. There just wasn't the acidity that I would have liked to have seen to support the fruit. Good fruit nonetheless. Almost a petrol like nose. Go figure... Been drinking up my older Kabinetts as I work my way through a number of curry dishes. Most of those are 2001's and 2002's. Seems to me that most of these were likely better a number of years ago, although I didn't try them back then. Next up will be similar Spatlese's that I suspect will have done better. All have been cellared since release at temp in the 50's and with appropriate humidity.
April 5, 2013 - Wow. Nearly a teenager yet still as fresh a new vintage. No green tea evolution here at all though has been at 55 since purchase on release. Granny Smith, lime, and pear notes; sugar there but so gloriously bouyed by acids that it dances on the palate then leaves without a hint of syrupy residue.
February 26, 2012 - Lovely bottle. I concur with the recent note about sweetness.
May 14, 2011 - A bit sweeter than I expected, but it really improved over time.
March 20, 2010 - Again, in a fantastic drinking window now. Green apple, peach, lime, minerals, acidity, well integrated. Simply delicious. And it paired beautifully with pork sausages.
August 29, 2009 - similar to my prior tasting note-- seems slightly better integrated. Everyone at dinner liked it, bottle consumed much too fast.
June 22, 2008 - Much improved since last tasted 2+ years ago. Green apple, lime on nose, green apple, peach, lime, minerals on palate. Seems spatlese sweetness, but kabinett mouthfeel, good acidity, not at all cloying for its sugar. Drinking well now, but interested to see how it does in another 5+ years.
November 3, 2007 - (See previous tasting notes) At a great stage, this wine has picked up some fat and definitely hit its stride, lots more of everything good, should have bought a case
December 1, 2005 - Bright yellow-green with a nose of apricot and lemon grass followed by sweet fruit, medium bodied, nice acidity and mineralality, medium finish
