March 26, 2016 - Ditto...but without the green pepper notes. Aging very well, with at least five more years of staying power. A fantastic red from Napa elevation.

August 31, 2014 - Inviting nose, smooth and silky, with a pleasant finish.

April 24, 2013 - Very consistent with my previous bottle. Love that mountain fruit. Lighter bodied than valley floor reds, higher in acidity, lean and trained. No heavy protein needed for this lovely wine -- but it won't hurt, either.

August 25, 2012 - This is damn fine mountain-grown wine. Out of the bottle, there's a vegetal, bell pepper thing. Then, it transforms with air and settles somewhere between dark and red fruit, depending on the moment. Acidity, tartness. Excellent.

December 11, 2011 - (A-) Nose is deep and filling with ripe plum, a bit of pepper, and some barrel room. The mouthfeel is silky and smooth. Fresh dark fruits with a bit of cream and toffee in back. Has opened up a lot in the last 14 months.

(Andesite Vineyard Mervignon) Medium dark red violet color; tart baked plum, tart berry nose; tasty tart baked plum, tart black fruit palate with poise; medium-plus finish (new release from a vineyard on Spring Mountain next to Paloma; the vineyard was planted to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from 2000 -2003; they also obtain a small amount of Cabernet Franc for the blend)
