  April 12, 2023 - Coravin fun - Caronne Ste Gemme and Branaire Ducru (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of cream, earth, black hued fruits shows brambles, plums, a little blackcurrant, almost a little raisined note. Hmm. Medium plus intensity acidity, similar fruit profile but all very wild, a little tomato leaf note joins, tannins are talc textured finishes with that creamy note. Hmm.

Aromas of cream, vanilla, a little caramel initially...with agitation some graphite, pencil shavings, wild blackcurrant, sweet spice. It's juicy with medium plus intensity acidity, softly textured tannins, far less structured than the 95 & 06, the fruit is joined by a little red currant sourness here as well. Okay.

  November 20, 2021 - Our only bottle, acquired as part of a much larger cellar contents purchase. Mature, beautiful and in a great drinking window but tonight unfortunately sandwiched between 2 super Tuscans of similar age, both of which outshone this wine tonight. Splash decanted for ~ 30 minutes and this could have used more air as the last little bit was clearly drinking the best. Reddish purple, peripheral bricking present, very well balanced and integrated with minimal tannins left thus definitely any remaining holdings need to be drunk soon. Soft mouth feel, medium bodied and long aftertaste. Nose of plum, dark cherry and vanilla with a flavor profile of plum, dark cherry, a hint of vanilla and black pepper. Definitely recommend with the understanding that right now this wine is a drink not hold.

  August 26, 2020 - The wine looks garnet colored. Aroma of mild spice, leather, cherries,
  It smells like light toast. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture like an elegant Margaux.The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. Tasted well for the year (1999) , not a favorite for the critics. My last bottle.
