February 27, 2022 - This is stunningly good. It’s aged way better than I ever predicted it would. About as good as (non 2004 Leroy) Bourgogne can be. Bright, mature, cherry tinged fruit. Floral. The palate is beautiful. Velvet. Pure. Decent depth. Decent complexity. Would put many a more prestigious bottle to shame. Drinking perfectly right now. Wow this is good. (90) hundred pointer for its level.

April 9, 2018 - This is very different from all other experiences of that wine and in hindsight I went too quickly through close to a 12 case. Always to come out disappointed by scents and expressions I associate with overripe pinot and domineering varietal expression. This is starting to recede now and when there is terroir, decent plant material and skilled wine-making it ends up showing. So much for vintage generalizations. On sap and presence this would eclipse many a village wine from good producers. Tickles the mind as a good Burgundy does.

March 14, 2018 - The fruit is bright and alive. Juicy red fruits which is a nice change from the thick skinned dark fruit of previous vintages. There's some greenery under it all. A vegetal character that makes you wish you had waited a few more years before opening this, but I enjoy the freshness of this now. Dark cherries, soy sauce, and that Chambolle silk texture. This is simplistic but on point.

January 26, 2018 - Light, bright ruby color. Fresh red berries, a hint of earth, and some VA evident on the nose. Light bodied with very tart red fruit on the palate. Acidity is overpowering with little weight or structure. I was disappointed in this bottle as had enjoyed the ‘08.
