Community Tasting Notes 11

January 20, 2019 - Another great bottle. Dark cherry fruit, hints mulberry and faded cranberry, lightweight palate, and a silky mouthfeel. This has started to take on bar-b-que notes that I have observed in other Maume wines ('05 Gevrey En Pallud, comes to mind). No degradation over three nights. The weekend H and I were engaged!

September 15, 2018 - Three years since my last bottle and this continues to be such a pleasing wine. A juicy palate of dark fruits from black cherry to red plum to cranberry, with buoyant acidity and a dusting of baking spices. This is more mature than the last bottle, of course, but still very youthful, just a bit more worn. Still, no degradation two nights later.

    March 16, 2016 - PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
    -nearly semi-translucent light-med red
    -Burg funk some reduction
-med/med- acidity, med- weight some remaining '09 soft sweetness at the relatively concentrated core, fruit starting to take a back seat, simple, finishes with med- resolving tannins, a touch of oak and mild rusticity
-basic but wholesome Bourgogne, probably on its plateau at this stage but no hurry

October 27, 2015 - Almost two years since my last bottle, and this is still drinking very well, and rather young still. It has the same brown sugar/spicebox notes on the palate, along with lots of pure red Pinot fruit that veers toward the dark fruit spectrum, with some more bass tones below. The palate seems thick and chewy at times, and yet also seems very light on its feet. This Bourgogne hasn't really aged that much over the past few years. It's still dark, but maybe a touch fuzzier around the edges. Very good.

May 13, 2014 - Almost muted nose. Not a bad daily drinker, but too plain to be excited about. Agree with other reviewer that it may be a entry level wine, but glad that I am drinking the last bottle.
