February 26, 2021 - CT's drinking window ended in 2019, but this feels barely ready: its colour is dark, nose and palate are full and fairly primary, there's some evident tannin towards the finish. For all that, it's an absolutely super wine, particularly on the nose and the finish, with spice and cassis, good raspberryish acidity, and a sense of generosity without compromising on balance. I'm drinking this as a digestif, but wish I had some duck as it would make a wonderful pairing. Quintessential Burgundy, and better than some 1ers.

November 4, 2019 - For lunch. Retirement is tough. Wonderfully soft, elegant wine. I looked at my last note from 2014 and, wow, has this improved. Popped and poured, after 20 minutes this was wonderful. CT tells me I paid $39 for this. Wow. This is worth almost twice that.

May 13, 2019 - Gone are the days when these bottles were laying orphan all over the USA for a fraction of the current vintage price.

August 4, 2018 - Delicious with wild Mallard and red wine reduction sauce.

March 22, 2018 - Delicious, and with room to grow, this bottle showed vibrant red fruit, excellent depth, and after 3 hours, earthy, spicy nuances that just needed air to shine. These was still a bit of mid-palate/finishing tannin that was amply supported by the fruit, so if someone were to still have any (I don't) there would be no fear in holding even for several more years. Amazing stuff, as usual, from Mugneret-Gibourg.
