July 5, 2019 - My last bottle from this vintage. How many wines can stand after 20 years. The cork in very good state. When open, cigar, lether and barrel. After ten minutes in deckanter, many flavors of fruitiness.
January 19, 2019 - I have always loved Faustino. I bought this wine with a case back in 2001. It needs time to open up but while I am sad to drink my last bottle, it is definitely overdue. Great wine but I just had a 2004 that was superior, so if you have a 1999, drink it while you can. #lovefaustino #faustino
September 14, 2018 - Garnet hue with orange bricking at the edges. A subtle nose of distinct and soothing roses. Slightly tannic on entry, smooth, but by no means plush, with tastes of dried cherries and a solid note of orange peel, with vanilla lurking in the background. The cherry vanilla fades early, leaving the orange peel to exit with a slow fade. This is a solid effort, and showing quite nicely at nearly two decades. Enjoying the last bottle.
September 3, 2018 - Highest rating I’ve given for a red wine and I suspect I am 15-20 years early. High tannins, strong flavor, perfect with an awesome filet.

March 29, 2018 - Faustino 1 (Hytta på Vaset i Valdres.): Drukket samtidig med en flaske av 2001-årgangen. Mursteinsrød farge med litt brunskjær. Sorte bær dominerer lukten, men også mye eik. Litt renere lukt enn 2001-årgangen. Smak av røde og sorte bær (solbær). En del bunnfall. 1999-årgangen og 2001-årgangen var ganske like.
November 10, 2017 - Last bottle. Very good still, fresh fruit, lovely tannins, Perfect balance. This would have been a keeper for several years still.
March 31, 2017 - A dark ruby wine, long legs, and a little bricking at the edges for the overly imaginative. Cherries, tobacco leaf, and vanilla on the rich nose. Smooth into the mouth with tastes of tart cherries, and orange peel. A very healthy dose of acidity mid palate, possibly more than desirable, but it keeps this Rioja lively. The finish has solid lengh, no complaints here, with more cherry and orange peel. At 18 years, showing very well, not fading at all.
