April 15, 2024 - Last bottle of this wine and it's still drinking beautifully. Savoury and refined with some red cherry fruit but tertiary flavours of umami and forest floor more prominent.

March 31, 2024 - I love this wine's openness and richness which derives from it's south Montalcino home. It's a beautifully seductive wine which doesn't score higher as I feel that it is a bit hefty and missing that ethereal, something untouchable below the surface that elevates a wine to the realms of greatness.

However, I am enjoying this very much as I write as it has plenty of freshness still it's tertiary notes are beginning to show. Liquorice, prune, cedar sap, dark cherry, mushroom and wild violets. The tannins are just about resolved and I imagine this will be drinking at it's peak (for those of us who like our wines with age) by and just beyond it's 20th birthday.

Lovely stuff and a very '2006' Brunello

March 23, 2024 - Great bouquet of ripe berries, prunes, pipe tobacco, spices. Wonderful bouquet, silky, smooth, sweet, dark berries, jam, hedonistic, spicy, leading to a long finish. Relatively dark, yet with nice fruit and sweetness as well as a nice acidic bite.

March 18, 2024 - I felt it was in the edge, but interesting. A color of almost brown, but not bad

February 22, 2024 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: 3 Guys, some wine II (Asperg): Glass: Zalto Bordeaux / Burgundy
Popped and poured. Drunk over several days. Clear, deep, garnet-tawny color with orange reflexes and fine grained sediment. Clean, medium+/pronounced and fully developed nose with lots of red fruit, herbs, oak, tar, menthol, leather. Ripe, complex, dense and wonderful.
At first, I was a bit scared about the high, 14,5% abv alcohol, but this fear was without any reason. The high, perfectly integrated acidity masked the high alc almost completely. High, silky-velvet tannin. On the palate lots of red and dark fruit, herbs, menthol, tobacco, licorice and some espresso. Very deep and complex, but also wonderfully balanced and with a great, velvet texture. Some extract sweetness. Great pressure and power. Finish is very long, fresh and multi-layered. Already drinking beautiful, but no need to hurry, maybe there is even more to come. 94-95

January 2, 2024 - Consumed at Otto, Sydney (BYO Tuesdays). Decanted just before drinking.
    Well developed bricking as expected.
Nose: wow - so intense. Blackberries, black cherries but more savoury notes of earth, terracotta, roasted tomatoes and leather.
Palate: medium body. Great line of acidity. Tannins subdued at first but became pronounced toward the end of the bottle. Everything so well balanced with great length. Paired well with lamb ragu. Drinking very well now. Outstanding wine.

January 2, 2024 - Perfectly in window. Drink now and for next 5 years. I don't know how to score a wine like this. Have consumed many 98, 99, 100 point wines (pro-scores) and this certainly isn't any worse ....

December 29, 2023 - wine was better after an hour of opening. Delicious taste, aroma, and the hint of Fruit. I think it was good as the 04 and maybe the 01
