Community Tasting Notes 3

September 14, 2013 - The Papies 20th Anniversary (Notting Hill Kitchen, Notting Hill, London): The wine performed brilliantly as the white wine in our anniversary dinner and was a real crowd pleaser.
The oak has assimilated well and this is now at a very good time to be enjoyed and could even say at its peak. The nose is full of citrus, mineral notes and a floral edge too. Medium on the palate, glycerine texture, good weight, acidity and fruit from start to finish. Very good condrieu, well made and a better alternative to an oaky chardonnay! 91-92

January 26, 2012 - Popped and poured, served at approximately 46 degrees. Heavy oak noted on first pour. As it opened up in the glass, the oak gave way to a gorgeous nose of citrus rinds (lime), florals, peach, and wet stones. On the palate, peach, lime, nice minerality, with a very full bodied, viscous texture. Nice acidic backbone here, and a moderate length finish. I actually preferred this more after it had warmed up a touch. Purchased on sale for $42, and worth every penny.

October 2, 2011 - A lot of banana, in the bouquet as well as the taste. Very mild wine.
