October 13, 2013 - Great QPR, not too complex, drinks a bit like a merlot. Round mouth feel, moderate finish, berry fruit taste, nice little tannins. Had with grilled steak which wasn't ideal- maybe a hearty pasta or some cheese versus meat would be better. Definite repeat for $10!
October 12, 2013 - This blend of 40% Negroamaro, 30% Primitivo and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon offers a great QPR. This really benefitted from a couple of years of ageing as compared with the 2011s which are now on the market. Clear ruby, medium (+) intensity. The nose is clean, with black and red berries, plums, sweet spice and some vanilla. The nose is medium (+) in intensity and developing. The palate is dry but with a nice burst of sweet fruit up front. Medium alcohol at 13.5% and medium to medium (+) acidity. The tannins have softened but are medium to medium (+). The mouth-feel is rounded at medium (+) and the minerality is medium. The finish is medium in length. The flavor intensity is medium (+). Overall, this is a very balanced wine. Medium to full bodied, but light on its feet. Good by itself but even better with meats and cheeses. Drink now or for the next couple of years. Great QPR, but I think I already said that!
June 25, 2013 - Solid Italian wine, nose of black fruit and licorice. Rich plump blackberries, spice, mint, oak on palate. Interesting with decent finish.
June 2, 2013 - Fantastic blend of Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Cab.Ruby in the glass, full bodied fragrant fruity nose, balanced tannins with black fruit and anise. Going to find more for our everyday house wine.
March 24, 2013 - Very good QPR wine. Fruit on the initial taste with a pleasant slight tannin finish.
