July 20, 2021 - Decanted for 2 hours, threw fine sediment. Best bottle yet. Fully mature Bordeaux with cherry, tobacco, blackberry and earth. Medium bodied and very smooth with mostly resolved tannins and plenty of fruit still. a few bottles left, hope they all show this well. Nice.

January 2, 2020 - Well stored bottle, opened and splash decant. Almost identical to note from 8/25/2018. Lots of cherry and tobacco initially with some cedar showing still. Medium bodied, nicely balanced and with plenty of fruit and some secondary notes easy to find. Resolved and easy to drink, some of these minor bdx's from the underrated 2001 vintage seem to be showing pretty well.

August 25, 2018 - Nose of cherry, tobacco, cedar, and cola. Similar on the palate with the addition of some dark fruits, chocolate, earth and a touch of tomato leaf. Medium bodied with a surprising amount of sweet fruit, cassis, pencil lead and that wonderful Bordeaux dust, this feels like its at its peak, but doesn't seem in any danger of fading in the near future. Fully resolved with secondary flavors evident, this was well received by a group of people who love wine. This was better than expected.

July 19, 2018 - From magnum, opened two hours before pairing with grilled beef kabobs. Initial drying tannins resolved with 30 minutes of air. A medium+ ruby in the glass, with clearing edges and no bricking. Dark cherry, blackberry, Provencal herbs, and soil on the nose. Surprisingly juicy fruits with very good concentration and intensity. Some sweet tannins mostly resolved, this was excellent both on its own and with food. Did not expect to like this as much as we did. Our last bottle, and seemingly at peak right now. Unlikely to improve further.
