November 14, 2017 - it has the wonderful Juge cut of minerality and elegant presence on the palate with a strong flow of red bramble fruit and sweet earth. The bright acidity makes the wine so easy to drink. While it has a nice complexity of fruit, you can sense that it's still holding a little something back so I think the wine still has some time ahead of it to really fill out. Certainly a burgundy drinker's syrah. All you the flavor you want from a well put together chambolle but with a touch of wild.

May 17, 2016 - This was giving and impressive from the start and yet it continued to unfold and reveal even more personality and nuance throughout the evening. Medium bodied, it had tones of rusty nail/fresh blood and a fascinating vein of green, vegetal complexity that brought up the topic of stem inclusion. Whatever it was, it added to the harmonic tapestry and I really liked it. All of this in a wonderfully elegant package with a haunting touch of old world funk and an expanding finish that I can still taste as I write these notes.

May 14, 2016 - Cornas & St Joseph Dinner (Camino): Started off quite muted - blind I wouldn't have said Cornas and I'm not 100% sure I would have said Syrah. Over time it opened up (or I just slowed down to appreciate it) - ethereal, fragrant, as one fellow diner described it like a Burgundy made in the northern rhone - perhaps a Roumier villages Chambolle...the discussion moved to stem inclusion and I could certainly taste it - although one wonders if one would have had other people not mentioned it...
All in all - a lovely wine, overshadowed perhaps by its shoutier siblings. I wonder if it would have made an even better impression if it were given the chance to perform alone... -

March 27, 2016 - Seriously delicious. Light, elegant and pure with a subtle minerality. Glorious wine with roasted lamb.

October 29, 2012 - A wonderful dose of pure black pepper Syrah carried by a somewhat silky, though lighter, lighter, flood of dark berries, alcohol, leather and a good earthy bramble scent. Just wonderful with aged steak.not the power or complexity of the Allemamd but, with an hour in the decanter, a Cornas pleasure.
