Community Tasting Notes 6

August 14, 2022 - Beautiful notes of botrytis, honey, dried apricot, rye bread, marmalade. Definitely very advanced in age, but way WAY way better than I was expecting. Absolutely wonderful surprise and an amazing bottle of wine.

September 16, 2021 - Nose of lanolin, honey slight apricot, marine. Medium to rich mouth. Long finish with medium acidity, but nice bitter lift balancing out the relatively modest impression of residual sugar.

October 5, 2013 - I really liked this a lot despite it not being exactly what I expected (my own lack of knowledge, I'm sure). Oily-sweet with honey and pit fruits. We had with a beautiful pork risotto, I think it was a bit too sweet for that pairing.

February 9, 2013 - Agree with tasters below. This doesn't drink like a dessert wine. It would be perfect with Asian fare - Thai. The nose has a honeyed white peach aroma. The palate is slightly sweet with honey, peaches and fig with very high acidity. Very fresh with laser-like focus. We liked it.

October 23, 2012 - Visits to Touraine Producers-Baudry, Huet, Foreau...; 10/22/2012-10/24/2012 (Vicinity of Tours, France): Honeyed nose with a touch of fig. Elegant feel, not at all syrupy. Adequate acidity and again, as with many of these wines, discernible soil on the finish. At least very good if lacking the tension to become better than that. At any rate, a good mouthful and not overwhelming.
