June 4, 2023 - Drinking far above its price point. Enjoyed this more than the 2010 Sassicaia I had last week. Still holding up extremely well.

October 21, 2021 - This is nice at this age. Full bodied, rounded and smooth. Not massively complex but pleasant

June 14, 2021 - Fully developed and drinking well, combining richness and elegance, yet the Merlot shows somewhat monolithic in the mid-palate.

March 20, 2016 - Not quite showing all its cards -- hold another 2-6 years. Expansive umami blackberry and currant countered by chalky earth. Showed especially well when served with food, in this case a 5 spice lamb polpette in heirloom ragu, the acids all ran together and let the meat and the fruit take center stage. $31 purchase price an absolute steal, one of the last winecommune scores.

March 4, 2015 - Drank side by side with the 1996 and they were strangely similar. The 2008 is big and concentrated but remains nicely balanced. Nice wine but too expensive from my point of view.

March 9, 2014 - This an amazing effort and while quite young will blossom into a rock star. Decanted 2 hours and featured firm tannins with oak, perfume, blueberries, coffee and roasted meats. Long finish and adds spices. Hold for five years and you will be pleased.

March 2, 2014 - Very tart red fruit, maybe anise, and oak. Palate had red fruits, leather, black pepper. Prevalent dry/dusty tannins. Big complex wine. This is still too young.. suggest holding another five years.
