October 19, 2019 - No apparent bricking. A medium to light-bodied wine with quality winemaking shining through at over a decade in the bottle. Aromas of dark berry, licorice and spring flowers. Palate of muted plums, black cherry, mushroom, tobacco and glycerin. The fruit appears to have faded a bit, but delicious nonetheless. Tannins are soft, but apparent. Spain continues to deliver great wines! I have one or two bottles left of this vintage and will try them next year.

July 5, 2019 - Blackberry color with slightly discernible bricking in the glass. Plum, violets and dark berries on the nose. Tannins are round and pervasive; fantastic moderate dryness. On the palate, muted raspberry, plum, pencil lead and chalk with a moderate finish. What a great wine and QPR. Tapas calling! This has at least 5-7 years of delicious life remaining. Perhaps more.

    January 4, 2019 - Parker rated 94 points:
"The Bodega’s flagship is called Selectus; no 2006 was made but the 2007 Selectus was worth the wait. A blend of 30% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Petit Verdot, it was aged for 18 months in new French oak. Smoky oak, pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, lavender, and assorted black fruits lead to a suave, dense, succulent offering that features outstanding volume and a 45-second finish. Give it another 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it from 2014 to 2027."

1.5h decant. Dense and concentrated aromas of plum, smoke, herbs and licorice. I agree with Parker on the very long finish. Acidity was a tad too high. Wish I would have bought more bottles (12€ on sale).
