December 29, 2018 - Upon opening there was the faintest hint of wet cardboard, but this blew off with two hours in the decanter. A mustiness was subtley in the background throughout the evening, but it didn't seem like full blown TCA. Fruit was elegant and soft - felt very much like a Haut-Medoc. There was even an austerity to this wine, with fine grained tannins and a nice spicy finish that nodded to its Californian origins. The medium bodied nature of this wine made it lovely with a game pithivier.

September 9, 2018 - Served with Wagyu ribeye, potatoes, tomato salad.
In today's terms, this is an "Estate" wine, bought at Lytton from vintage wines. Decanted just before serving to handle the sediment.
Look: dark crimson, good color to the rim.
Smell: prunes, raisings- deep fruit, tobacco, perfumed - not reticent.
Palate: dry, good acid, tannins are smooth, nice length. I was begging for more. The steak wine, and salad were happy in each others' presence.

At least for this bottle, I don't think the wine is fading, but I would be drinking if I had more.

January 7, 2018 - No formal notes, but not bad, but based on this bottle appears to be time to drink up. The grippy tannins are still there and the fruit has mellowed. Quite enjoyable.

August 6, 2017 - California Vacation (Sonoma, SF, Monterey); 8/5/2017-8/12/2017: Tasted at winery. Nice acidic structure. Some sour red fruit a bit pruney on finish. Still some tannin resolving.
