February 25, 2019 - Still good but rather flat fruit. Way past it’s prime. Some fruit still there. Easy to drink.

November 19, 2018 - Pretty good, but most likely drank it past its prime.

October 27, 2017 - The last Turley Charbono in my cellar, and it turned out to be the best I remember having. Richly textured, purple/black fruit, present but smooth tannins. Served with a pot roast and that worked well, but a deeper more caramelized braise (short ribs?) would have been even better. Saturated fruit, really delivered the goods. Very nice now, but I think will hold in a good drinking window for some time, has both good structure and great fruit.

November 24, 2016 - Complex, mature and very enjoyable Zinfandel. Pleasant nose of cedar, tobacco and earth, on the palate an intriguing array of dark cherry, a longish bitter cocoa finish framed with decent acidity and smooth tannins rounds this out. Well balanced for a Turley. Drink up and enjoy before the fruit fades.

December 13, 2015 - PnP at a restaurant. No detailed notes. First experience with Charbono, although research indicates that it is the same as Bonarda, which I have had in some lower priced Argentinean blends. My guess was that it was a blending wine that someone had too much of and decided to bottle it separately. That said, my recollection was that it was dark, rich, brooding. Thick, tart, dark fruit, with interesting spice. Can't believe anyone would describe this wine as "thin." Next time, I will decant aggressively and serve with braised pork shoulder or BarBQ.
