July 4, 2022 - Popped and poured. Still pretty dark for a 15 year old wine. The black fruits are a bit baked/raisined on the nose but on the palate, the wine still drinks pretty well thanks to good acidity. Dark, ripe black fruits and almost a blackberry cobbler flavor along with a touch of black pepper. High alcohol but well balanced. I don't see this getting any better as there isn't much in terms of tertiary development so I would drink up if holding any.

January 31, 2021 - Inky dark purple, strong nose of beef blood. Bold, but well balanced with a good acid and tannic component. The last bottle of the original BD buy, consumed over ten years and the last bottle was just as good as the first. Notes say I only bought 2 on BD 2012, must have confused with the 2006, I have moved toward a more reserved wine over the years, still good to revisit an old favorite and an Eric recommend from the early years.

November 1, 2018 - I haven't been drinking enough Cabot. This wine was tough sledding in its youth, but now it is smoky and sultry with blackberry and bacon while still showing the red fruit and acid of its youth. It could still use some more time to unwind even a little more, but I suspect it is close to apogee. It features more and acid and a little less stuffing than some other vintages.

January 17, 2018 - Very good Syrah, but nothing that stands out.
