September 13, 2021 - Cork was tight, came out clean. Decanted two hours before tasting. Very dark in color (couldn't see fingers through the glass) with some rust. Tertiary nose of barnyard, black currant, slate, ammonia. Bone dry and brooding on the palate, whispers of red and black plum with leather, forest floor, and heavy minerality, a little brackishness, lovely midweight mouthful. Long finish with some prevalent rustic tannins still hanging around. Color aside, about as traditional as you can get. There's bound to be some bottle variation at fifteen years, but this tasted a few years over the hill. Nonetheless, some serious juice. Excellent.

July 27, 2021 - Good BdM. Better than the 2006 Ciacci BdM. Agree with Cooper's notes from June.

June 25, 2021 - Great nose of red fruit, new leather and sweet spice. Earthy with minerals and still noticeable tannins. Great mouthfeel. Dried red fruits. Long finish. Gave it about 45 minutes to open up. This is drinking extremely well and may still be on an upward trend. One of my favorite brunello producers.

June 2, 2021 - Clear medium dark red. Wet soil, black cherry, plum and toasted pine nuts. Dry earthy black fruit and spice flavours and a dry tannic finish.

May 13, 2021 - Well! This wine is finally in a mature Brunello phase and has developed significantly over the past couple years. Very open upon decanting, but starts popping after 30 minutes or so. Gorgeous nose, integrated tannins retaining some grip. This has moved from a good wine to an excellent wine. This wine is mature and I don’t see much long term upside to further cellaring.
