November 15, 2018 - Opened this about two hours before dinner yesterday. Initial nose reminded me of many over extracted alcoholic wines. Waited a total of threes hours before tasting. Very impressive. The high alcohol nose had diminished substantially and the dark fruits were very engaging.
I finished the remaining half of the bottle tonight and this is even better. The alcohol is unnoticeable on the nose. Taste is smooth, elegant dark fruits and some earthy elements.
If I had another bottle, my preference would be to open and decant at least five hours prior to serving.

October 27, 2018 - Good berry flavors, but a bit high in alcohol. On its downside

October 16, 2017 - Purple in color. 16.2% ABV. Super nose of red and black fruits, licorice and pepper. Full bodied with juicy acidity and just a touch of heat on the palate. Flavors of raspberry liqueur, boysenberry, blueberry and white pepper. The finish is exceptionally long. Enjoyable Zinfandel but you have to be a fan of the Turley wines from this era. Drink over the next 2-3 years.

March 15, 2017 - A particularly strong showing for this particular single vineyard wine!

March 11, 2017 - Calling this hot is understated. Popped and decanted for an hour. The nose shows a touch of milk chocolate and boysenberry, but the alcohol comes out of the glass like steam from water hitting hot pavement. The palate is more of the same; some milk chocolate and a skosh of sweet raspberry show, but the flavors are overrun by alcohol. Settled after an hour or so in the glass, but still unpleasant. Corked it and opened it up 24 hours later. Softer mouthfeel, but alcohol STILL dominates. A hot mess desperately needing more fruit.
